Franklin W. Alger Jr.

I am a Legacy Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and have been serving in since 2004 at the Post, District, or Department level. I am currently (2026-2027 year) serving as the District 10 Commander and the Department of AZ AVHOF Chairman. I am a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and American Legion. I am a life member of the Marine Corps League (MCL) and have been an active officer at the Detachment, Department of AZ or Southwest Division from 2002-present. My service in the MCL started in 2002 when I was elected as Commandant of the Saguaro Detachment 554. I was the Marine of the year in 2011. I am a Life member of the Military Order of Devil Dogs and have been an officer at the Pound or Pack since 2005. I was the SW Division Marine of the year 2022 and Pound Dog of the Year in 2025. I was inducted as a Member of the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Class of 2023. I am a founding member of the East Valley Young Marines and served as Unit Commander from 2005-2019 and Unit Paymaster 2020-present. I was Grand Canyon Regiment Volunteer of the year 2008 and 2011 and National Young Marine Volunteer of the year 2011. I am currently serving as Grand Canyon Regimental Finance Manager 2025-present. I served as Battalion Commander, Patriot BN Young Marines, 2007-2009 and Regimental Commander, Grand Canyon Regiment Young Marines, 2009-2019 Employment History: I was an Assisted Living Caregiver and a Licensed Manager for Assisted Living Facilities from 2005 to 2019. I have been working as an Enrollment Counselor since 2008 and am currently with the University of Phoenix. Worked as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Dubuque from 2016-2023.
